Spreadsheet File Reading Capability

Feature Request

Many customers have requested the ability to read spreadsheet files such as CSV and XLS. This feature will enable you to upload spreadsheet-based files and have the bot answer questions based on the data within them. It can be used as a knowledge source for the bot, as well as for ad-hoc file uploads and chats on Slack.

    We’ve shipped support for XLS and CSV files for OpenAI Assistants!

    You can now upload these files to OpenAI Assistants, and also use Google Sheets for file_search. Internally, we convert the files to JSON so GPT can comprehend them. However, please note that this approach differs from how the code_interpreter tool works. For more complex data analysis on larger spreadsheet files, enabling the code_interpreter tool would still be required.​
